How to Get Over The Feeling of “Lagging Behind” ☀️🧚‍♀️

Sometimes we get this feeling that we’re lagging behind all of our friends or even strangers we see online. We get too caught up and start focusing on the achievements and milestones that we DON’T have. This feeling can be very demoralising and negative so let’s try to step out of there.

Here are some reminders for us:

⏰ There is no rush…
“Rome wasn’t built in a day”—this is perfect. If you are working on your goals bit by bit everyday, then applaud yourself for it. You don’t need to achieve something big to be able to applaud yourself. It’s ok to take things slow or rest.

🌸 Other people are not competition, they are references
Don’t use other people as a benchmark for yourself. They are just references of how lives can be lived differently. Let’s watch them with love and admiration. Be happy for them and know that if they can, you can too.

⏳ We are not on the same timeline
We are all going through different events and experiences. We shouldn’t expect everyone to hit the same milestones. Don’t feel guilty that it’s not right now or it’s not before. Get excited that you might just make your dreams come true tomorrow or the next month, or anytime in the future. Your timing will come if it hasn’t—Trust.

❤️ You are doing just fine
Don’t beat yourself up just because you don’t seem to be achieving as quickly as others. Re-look at your life and how far you’ve come. As long as you’re safe, alive and kicking, there is always something to be thankful. Take this chance to write a gratitude list to help center your mind on what you already have and the potential that’s within you. Know that you have the power within you to achieve anything you set your mind to.

I hope this helps 🌸

With Love,
Chara
